DURYEA BOROUGH
HAS TWO PARKS LOCATED WITHIN THE BOROUGH.
HEALEY PARK
The Healey Park is located at the corner of
Foote Avenue and Wright Street and
has been in existence for over fifty years. The park
has been the center for recreational activities in
the borough, including Easter egg hunts, visits with
Santa Claus and Halloween Parties along with other
special occasions. The park consists of a food
stand, a covered pavilion with picnic benches, two
basketball courts, swings, sliding boards and other
playground equipment geared to smaller children.
COMMUNITY PARK
The Community Park is the newest park. The park is
located behind the Duryea Borough Building and spans
from Lackawanna Avenue to Stephenson Street. The
park presently has a walking trail, basketball
court, roller hockey court/basketball court, and
swing set. The playground has a Webscape which older
children can climb and a small children’s play area.
The biggest attraction is the Mega Tower, which is
an impressive tower with five large sliding boards
along with other activity areas on the tower. The
pavilion which has tables and benches provides an
area of relaxation for park visitors. The park
promises to be the site of many recreational
activities in the future and will be enjoyed by
residents of all ages.
